The date is set.

So let's give this another try, shall we?

Sometimes life is just so fun and exciting in the "real" world that posting drops down off the list of priorities. I've been doing tons of reading and have started to miss making my own contribution. The truth is I really do enjoy blogging and I am resolving to pick it up again.

Enter the save the date cards I designed for my sister-in-law and her fiance Raul. Their engagement photos were done by the immensely creative Korie Lynn. How perfect is the swan? I love her work and can't wait to find an excuse for my own shoot.

Raul is a talented musician and producer and one of Amanda's many gifts is her beautiful voice. I know they'll always be making music together, so to me the shot with the guitar is so "them."

I had so much fun working with my BFF/SIL to come up with the design for these cards. She loves how they turned out; she thinks they look famous. Aren't they just a gorgeous couple? I'm already jealous of how striking their children are going to be.

The cards are 5x7s ordered through Overnight Prints in matte finish. I ordered the sparkly/glimmer (think classy vampire) A7 envelopes from Paper-Papers and am really pleased with their quality. They are pewter-- just the right non-silver tone that Amanda envisioned.

I did a simple washout on the back with a slight burlap texture and a subtle edge burn. This pic of them cracking up is probably one of my favorites, but who can really choose.

It's hard to believe I get to stand as the matron of honor at their wedding in just 88 days! It's going to be such a unique and beautiful affair and I'm guaranteed to be a blubbering tears-of-joy mess the whole time. I can't wait.
